About the Company
Denver Adventures was founded in 2005. The adventurous activities are spearheaded by the company’s founder, Stefan Van der Steen, an outdoor adventure enthusiast with a dream of bringing people closer to the outdoors in a fun and active way. The Rocky Mountains close to Denver are the perfect platform for easy access to a wide variety of terrain and natural scenery to suite anybody’s needs. Every one of our adventures invites you to enjoy and use nature’s wonders but at the same time respect, admire, and learn from it.
About the Owner
When I’m not leading groups I am always on the lookout for my next adventure! I am committed to giving people the chance to explore places that they wouldn’t normally get to, pushing themselves beyond the limits of what they thought they were capable of, all while having a safe and enjoyable adventure.
Rock Climbing

If you are looking for a truly unique adventure in the Rocky Mountains, our rock climbing excursion should be at the top of your list! Less than 30 minutes driving from Denver are some of the most spectacular rock formations for climbing at all levels of difficulty. The views on to downtown Denver and surrounding mountains are absolutely stunning.
We only offer top rope climbing which is the safest way of rock climbing because you are always tied to a rope above you. Our experienced guides will show you the basics of climbing and safety as well as pick the appropriate climbing route for your abilities.
- Reservations are required.
- Must be 5 years or older.
- Climbers must be in good physical condition without medical issues such as heart conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery or injuries, etc. We welcome persons with disabilities but due to the inherent nature of this activity we will assess each person on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us before booking.
- Bring weather-appropriate clothing. Dress in non-cotton layers and bring a light wind breaker as well as a small backpack for personal items. Closed-toed shoes are required.
- You will be sent a link to the Liability Waiver a few hours before trip departure.
Active Sight Seeing Tour

Not in the mood for physical activities? We offer a variety of active sightseeing options. Whether you just want to escape the city for a few hours or for a full day, we can put together a trip that fits your needs. Individuals, small, and large groups are welcome. There are endless places to visit around Denver but some of the more popular destinations include the following:
- Visit the famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater – the world’s largest natural outdoor amphitheater!
- Stroll the shops in the small historic cowboy town of Golden
- Visit a gold mine and old mining town
- Enjoy history and views at Lookout Mountain’s Nature Center and Buffalo Bill’s Grave
- Drive to the top of a 14,000ft mountain by car!
- Also ask about our Colorado Springs sightseeing tours including riding the longest and highest cog train in the world to the top of Pikes Peak (over 14,000ft!), a visit to Manitu Springs, the Garden of the Gods, old Gold Camp Road and more. Minimum of 4 paying clients needed to run this Colorado Springs adventure.
Snowshoeing

This is truly a unique winter activity without having to sit in traffic, fight crowded lift lines or buy expensive lift tickets. Weather permitting, you will be on the trail in 30 minutes from Denver surrounded by beautiful scenery, pine trees, single track trails, crisp air, and far-reaching views! So bundle up and enjoy what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience. Individuals, small, and large groups are welcome.

Whitewater Rafting

Experience whitewater rafting and you will surely come back for more! You will raft through a beautiful canyon, past a gold mine, and view the occasional wildlife. Rafting trips at all levels are available from beginner family trips to advanced trips for experienced rafters. We will handle all the logistics and gear. All you need to do is enjoy the ride!
We offer rafting adventures at 2 different locations. Raft through the stunning Royal Gorge Canyon or stay closer to Denver and raft one of the fastest rivers in the country. Ask us about adding a gold mine tour to your rafting trip. Both are located in the same place!
Zipline

Ride down Colorado’s longest and fastest ziplines ranging from 850ft to over 1,900ft long, with speeds up to 60mph and up to 250ft above ground! Our zipline course is located in a beautiful nature park nestled in the Rocky Mountains only 30 minutes from Denver. After your zipline adventure unwind at our neighboring tavern Colorado's best beers and enjoy local micro-brews, whiskeys, wines, snacks and more!
Micro-Brewery Tours

Whether you just want to taste a few beers at our neighboring pub or visit and taste a few beers from 2-3 micro-breweries in Golden and/or Denver, we can put together a trip that fits your needs. Individuals, small, and large groups are welcome! Micro-brewery tours are “most popular” when combined with another one of our great adventures, such as ziplining!

Mountain Biking

The Rocky Mountains are a paradise for mountain biking at all levels. Whether you are an experienced rider looking for different terrain or a beginner looking for adventure, this ride has it all! From the legendary Colorado Trail to many other Front Range trails close to Denver, you will not be disappointed. Stunning views, unique rock formations and beautiful natural surroundings make the trip truly memorable. Individuals, small and large groups are welcome.

- No experience required but must be able to ride a bike comfortably.
