This week in Breckenridge

You're here for the week now what do you do?!

My picks for the best things to do this week visiting Breckenridge

You've arrived for the week now what do you want to do?! Breckenridge and Summit County has tons of fun things to do inside and out...but mainly out! You're in Colorado after all we us locals aren't known for our inside shennigans..unless it's in one of our many craft breweries. I am going to give you your 5 day recommended itinerary so that you have a better idea of what the area truly has to offer.

Day 1:You've just arrived so take a moment to get use to the altitude, you are almost 2 miles above sea level after all! The key ingredient to avoiding altitude sickness is h20. Yes water. Drink tons of it and you'll be fine! Altitude sickness is generally a mixture of not enough fluids and well..the altitude. It will feel like a powerful headache along with aches and possibly becoming nauseous. It's best to avoid heavy conssumption of alcohol but it small amounts you'll be just fine! If you want to ensure that you have no issues I recommend the oxygen guys and they'll come and set you up with extra oxygen for your stay! The Oxygen Guys

Day 2: Rent some bikes from a local shop called Ridden. Ridden has fat tire bikes, path bikes, and mountain bikes and they're available for rental daily, hourly or for a half day. They also offer a killer guided beer bike and distillery tour that runs through Breckenridge. It starts on the south end of town and you go out on their light weight carbon fiber fat bikes. You cruise through town and recieve info on the mining history that formed Breckenridge. You then hop on the scenic blue river rec path and make your way out to the Breckenridge Distillery and Broken Compass brewery with transportation provided for the way back! One way trip all down hill - IT IS A MUST DO. Fat Bike Beer Tour

Day 3: Prepare yourself for.....an EPIC day of rafting. My pick for day 3 is a half day rafting trip with The Adventure Company. The Adventure company offers numerous trips and they even offer transportation from multiple points across Summit County. My personal top pick is the half day Browns Canyon Trip. Browns canyon is absolutely beautiful, the trip is about 2 hours long and it starts off very casual but finishes with straight up action. The trip is suitable for just about all ages(7 min) and it's the perfect combo of scenery and action. Water is a little cold though ;) Rafting Browns Canyon

Day 4: Another one of my personal favorites is renting UTV's! If you don't know what a UTV is it stands for Utility Terrain Vehicle - These off road machines can go anywhere you want and with the rental it gives you the ability to explore all on your own! The Utv's are rented out of Kremmling and include a map on where you can and can't go. These rentals make for a great day trip and be sure to bring your camera so you can capture some of the amazing scenery! UTV Rental

Day 5: Relax! You've been a busy bee. I would recommend strolling the streets of Breck or taking a drive over to Frisco and stopping in for a beer at High Side Brewing or taking a walk over to Lake Dillon. If you really want to get after it I recommend explore our full marketplace of the best things to do in the area! AdventureBOT's Best
