Memorial Day Weekend in the Mountains!

How to have the BEST time in Breckenridge Memorial Day Weekend

What to do with your family or group while in Breckenridge for Memorial day weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend is here! Spring is in the air, its nearly summer, your uncle is a little tipsy, and the grill is ready to go! Memorial Day is one of those long weekends where you can ring the bell for summer and have an entire weekend of BBQ, drinking beer, playing yard games and it's totally acceptable to try and put the upcoming week at the back of your mind. Let's say you want to take a different approach though, one where you at least get some adventure in and THEN you can indulge in the festivities of the weekend. Here is the guide to your Memorial Day Weekend in Breckenridge. This will be built as your family-friendly itinerary OR your bachelor/bachelorette weekend.

First off - Any of the trips listed below are family friendly - Also for your bachelorette/bachelor weekend - Alcohol hits twice as hard at this altitude so drink water. Don't be that guy or girl - well maybe a little

Friday

Family Itinerary - You've just arrived in town and you're tired, as well as the kids. Head on over to Empire Burger above Ridden in Breck and have some burgers than head back to the hotel for some pool action or just to catch up on those lost Z's.

Group Itinerary - You've just arrived in town and you're a bit tired but....you have to rally. It's the beginning, you don't have that lingering hangover quite yet so use the evening. Settle in and grab some grub at Sancho's Tacos and Tequila. Get one beer or a cocktail and explore the town a bit. Head down the road to RMU and grab a few beers and maybe a shot or two depending on how ambitious your group is. In my personal experience, I wouldn't send it super hard because a big day is waiting for you.

Saturday

Family Itinerary - Head on over to American Safari Ranch and do the Horse Back riding and Atving experience with lunch included! It's a great way to have a full day and still have a TON of fun. Dinner recs should definitely include Downstairs at Eric's - This locals family-friendly joint includes an arcade for the kids and a ton of beers on tap for the parents. Check Availability for American Safari Ranch

Group Itinerary - I had you taking it easy so hopefully you did...if not. Rally again. You have a rafting trip on Browns Canyon Starting at 9:00 AM The Adventure Company provides top of the line service and it should be just enough to get the heart pumping! But not your stomach from the night before. Heads up NO morning beers. Once you've completed an epic trip down the river take the afternoon to lounge about. Prepare for dinner at 1 of my 2 favorites being Ember or Relish. Once you've finished dinner, head towards the north end of town and pub crawl your way back up to Cecilia's or Liquid Lounge for the dance parties awaiting you. Check Availability for White Water Rafting in Browns Canyon

Sunday

Family Itinerary - Wake up with the kiddos and head over to Daylight Donuts or The Blue Moose (CASH ONLY) and get a nice breakfast in for your day! I recommend taking the Gondola up for a fun free ride and then heading to Boreas Pass for a scenic hike with the family. you'll walk along the old railroad path that use to be how supplies were brought over into Breckenridge for the miners. Hint: Check out the train at the bottom. Dinner recommendations include Blue Stag Saloon, Kenosha Steakhouse, or Fatty's Pizzeria.

Group Itinerary - Get some breakfast in you at Columbine Cafe and maybe have a mimosa with it to shake off last night. The mimosa will also make for a nice transition into your Sunday activity - The famous Breckenridge Beer bike & Distillery Tour which is operated by Ridden. In your tour you will go past the historic Gold Pan Saloon, make sure you take note of this as it is also Carboy Winery. The Ridden tour includes stops at the Broken Compass Craft Brewery and Breckenridge Distillery. Check Availability For Ridden's Bike Beer & Disitillery Tour

Monday

For all - Relax! Play yard games, hang with the fam, rent bikes, eat burgers, drink twisted teas, have FUN however you know how.
