Did you say dog sledding?!

A few new things are onboard for this winter! Where to rent all your gear

A new business is joining the mix and where you should rent all your gear for your next vacation

Hello all! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was fairly eventful! I got a new truck, a new comforter, and enjoyed a few cocktails with friends yesterday. The bigger news, however, is that a new business had joined the platform and they bring a pretty fantastic product to the table! Alpine Adventures is the business! They’re a dog sledding business located in Leadville, CO that operates two great tours. The first offering they provide is a tag sled tour which is a completely dog-powered tour. This tour is ideal for a couple or a small family looking to have a true dog sledding experience. Two adults and two children can generally fit on this tour and if the children are 9 or older they will even have the opportunity to drive the sled! Generally, the child needs to be at least 80lbs in order to apply the brake and they also need to be tall enough to see over the handlebars.

The other tour offering that Alpine Adventures provides is the group tour. It is a bit more focused on price and gives you the ability to have a bit of a bigger group. The group tour is partially dog-powered and gives your group the ability to have up to 6 people in your party. When you’re not driving the dogs you will be on a sleigh that is pulled by a snowmobile which also makes for a fun ride! Dog sledding has been around for a very long time and it brings a certain sense of easier times and almost provides a flashback in time. Another added benefit of dog sledding is literally just hanging out with the pups! If you’re an animal lover you’ll be sure to get your fix while visiting. How can you get enough husky in your life? Come out starting mid-November - December and you’ll find out!

Among other things, for our planner folks is that winter is on the horizon. In Colorado that means cold and snow with Arapahoe Basin already getting its first dusting. Colorado is great for all things winter but at times it does feel like it never ends. In a way, it really doesn't considering A-Basin closed on July 4th this year! With snow in August most local residents are pretty happy with snow because if you're not okay with snow, don't live in Summit County, CO. For the snow lovers though this means skiing, boarding, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice fishing and snowshoeing! Be sure to book soon as availability gets very limited in peak season. During Christmas you'll be lucky to find a spot so it's best to book early on. For the travelers out there I also want to talk about a service Ridden Breckenridge

Offers. Ever gone on a ski trip and had to deal with lugging all of your gear around? What if the airline loses your baggage? Ridden offers a service that includes top of the line rental equiptment! It's not your average gear either, it's nice DC & Quiksilver outerwear that keeps you warm and dry all day long on the mountain. They even rent snowboards that retail grade so you don't have to sacrifice your riding experience. Renting your gear when you get in destintion is an affordable means that keeps the pain of lugging gear around at the airport. I would highly recommend renting all your gear for your next experience in Breckenridge! Saves time and money while still getting you on the mountain looking and riding your best.
